Second time I have been here for dinner, excellent both times. The grilled oysters, octopus, baby scallops, and short rib were incredible.

The food, cocktail and wine offering was lovely!! What really sets this restaurant apart, is the team, exceptional service and attention to details. We had a wonderful time. Kevin looked after us and he did a great job sharing his favourite takes on cocktails and dishes! We loved his recommendations! The sommelière was wonderful as well; continued to check in us throughout. From start to finish, we had the very best experience.

Since my first appearance in 2023, Bar Spero has been my favorite restaurant in DC for the following: - Menu Diversity: a range of hot & cold dishes with a mix of seafood & land - Cocktails: the bar program is amazing and the bartenders are top tier - Flavors: Bar Spero’s use of the hearth makes them stand out, compared to most restaurants in DC. The smoke induced method gives not only the food enhanced character, but the restaurant itself. - Vibe: it’s a sexy aesthetic with a playlist tops off the experience. Mandatory date spot or solo trip.

My husband and i visited Bar Spero while visiting the DC area from Detroit. This was one of the most phenomenal culinary experiences we've ever had. The executive and sous chefs have created a menu that simply makes your palate explode with flavor. Service and atmosphere are top notch as well. Easily one of the best restaurants in America. We can only hope they make their way to Detroit's food scene in the near future.

Excellent service from Kevin! Technique and flavor of the food were superb. Favorite bites were the oysters, octopus, and bread.

I’ve tried this place three times now since their opening and the food has just gotten better and better! All-time favorites include the cooked oysters, beef tartare, and the potato. The beef ribs were also incredible. The only critique I’d give is the service was a bit slow on the weekends, with food taking awhile to come out and wine refills a bit delayed. Overall, 10/10 recommend!

Incredible and attentive service. Thank you! Beautifully executed seafood, vegetables and desserts. So much care and attention is paid to every aspect of the meal. The craft cocktails were outstanding. The skin contact wines were earthy, smoky, and complemented the food so well.

We happened on to this place on a Tuesday night during our conference a few blocks away. Eclectic is the best word I have. The staff was super friendly and attentive. If you eat in the dinning room is 4 courses counting dessert for $95 per person. If you eat at the bar, you can order à la cart. The food was good but very different. We had a 2 hour long dinner and had a great time!

The hostess were super nice! Helped us get seats on mother's day without reservation. The waiter was super nice when my dad didn't like a dish and he offered another one. And even took the dish off the bill. Went here for brunch and dinner. I think the brunch is the better option. $40 for 3 course meal. Salmon toast was good, salmon was fresh. The duck by itself would've been good but they put too much egg yolk but the hash brown at the bottom had so much flavor and good crunch on outside and soft on inside. The fish for dinner was super expensive but it had good taste and flavor. Nice searing with good view looking out and locate in a nice area.
